Physis is a very spontaneous idea I've had that seems like a no brainer. Basically, I need more work and social interaction, some people in the area need a making space and could also do with the social side of creating and sharing ideas. The hall is a good space for this, with the kitchen facilities for endless cups of tea, good natural light on most days, and plenty of room. I already have lots of easels there and have nearly 35 years teaching experience. My classes in America, before relocating to the UK, had particular titles and curricula but were very much an open studio practice, where individuals were welcome to develop personal projects, receive instruction for new media and proven techniques, and try a multitude of processes. I'm hoping an open studio will appeal to those wanting a regular meeting time & place to explore ideas and possibly benefit from my varied experiences and studies. I’ll bring the tea & coffee!
